This here is a custom pickguard a friend did for me, hand painted. I don’t think she enjoyed the process much – or was it just my flip-flopping on design ideas – so I won’t say ‘call her for all your custom pickguard needs’. But she does all types of work so if you’re looking for something to decorate your walls or Christmas tree, check out her site at this address.
Some day I’ll put a picture in here with it installed. Before that I need to come up with some way to protect it, I’m thinking a really thin plastic shielding of some sort. I sprayed it with a car paint protectant, but unlike car paint it isn’t flat. It has a brush-stroke texture to it that’s probably vulnerable to chipping off, based on the scratches the stock one has on it. I don’t play with a pick so I don’t know how they got there, but they’re a sign of things to come if it isn’t covered somehow. Anyway, that’s it for today.
I came in here to do some ‘freshening up’ yesterday, and noticed I haven’t added anything new since March!?! Well, I don’t have anything brilliant to say today either, except to point out that time really does fly (whether you’re having fun or not) so be careful… a lot of it can get behind you before you know it!
